Migrate posts, comments, tags from blogger (ftp based) to wordpress

Blogger is one of the popular blog publishing tool, which quite numbers of people are using it. I had been the blogger user since 2008, the first blog service I had ever used. My first impression for the blogger is good, very easy to use, especially at the beginning, when you only have a few posts.

Blogger generally will create the new files once you posted your subject(s). When your posts are to begin to grow eventually, your files will be flooded in one folder. You will find hard to locate & maintain your files in your folder. Therefore, I had made my mind to switch my blog tools to wordpress, which all the comments, posts, etc are manage in the database. It will be more organized.

However, blogger is still excellent criteria to be used for the new starters to establish their blogs.

Well, here is the useful steps share by benfrain and it is really helpful to me.

UNversion your svn work

Tips: this is mean for Tortoise svn.

Step 1: Go to your desired path folder like shown on below image.

From the icons you can see the green tick on one folder which means this folder is subversioned (svn-ed).

Step 2: Click the folders button beside the Search button. You will see the list of folders and files listed on your left.

Step 3: Drag the svn folder to your directories on your left to your same folder as shown below. While drag the folder, make sure you use right-click. It will show the options. Choose the option “SVN Export versioned items here”. Then your task is already done.

Step 4: You can see your all hidden .svn files has already removed, which means that you already unversioned your work files.

During Christmas Eve, after work (half day), I had strolled around Orchard in Sg to take some pictures. Before that, I was very hungry… looking for food, so find nearby food court.. after observing every stalls, I had decided to order the Seafood Spicy Spaghetti. The spaghetti looks delicious….

Nice isn’t it?

After finishing the food, I started walk around the city in Orchard. Well, unsurprisingly, the city has filled with legion of people who also go there to celebrate the xmas eve. I had took some photos of the xmas decoration………..

How to Cancel Check Disk for Consistency

Basically, there are 2 ways to solve this problem.

My 1st best suggestion; manually check the disk volume.

1. Start->My Computer
2. Select the Drive you want to perform the check by right click, select properties.
3. Choose the tools tab and then press the Check Now button.
4. Check 2 checkboxes then proceed the check.
5. It may take some minutes to be done.
6. Restart your computer and see if there is still got the auto check disk in windows.

If the 1st suggestion is not the way, there is still got another way to solve it.

2nd suggestion; manually cancel the auto check disk by run command.

1. Start-> Run…
2. Type this command chkntfs /x c: . The /x probably means cancel the desired auto check disk, where c: is the drive to be cancel the auto check disk. You will see the command prompt appear few seconds and disappear.
3. When it is disappear it is done.
4. After you perform this task, the cpu register changed. You can go to the registry editor to view by press Start-> Run… , type regedit. Then find the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\Session Manager.
5. You can see that there is the registry BootExecute changed its data to autocheck autochk /k:c *.
6. Restart your computer and see the results.

File System Check for Consistency

Recently, when I open my PC, before proceed to the windows it will automatically prompt the light blue screen with the msg “File System need to check for consistency”. This msg in long term will be very annoying. I always have to press esc button to skip the procedure.

I know that I need to let the computer to check the system, but when the procedure begin, it halts/hangs in the middle way processing the check. Therefore, I had no choice but to skip and go to the windows and manually check the volume error in the drive. It ended the same result…

hanged & hanged

I need to find other way to solve this problem…
Anyone who know how to solve this problem? Can suggest better way for me? tq

Global Financial Crisis

One month has been passed, since after I move all my stuff to my hometown. Looking for new jobs in Singapore, hoping for better experiences and of course income.

Damn it… at the same time the whole world is having global financial crisis (recession), and I had read the news that Singapore company are gonna to let 300,000 employees unemployed to save their financial state. I guess mostly are blue collar employees will be the victims. They said most of the Malaysians are not skilled workers.

hm… guess is time for me to blend some skills and knowledges during this crisis while looking for new jobs…

Barcamp KL

2 days of weekend have jz passed, i had attended the quite useful event – Barcamp Malaysia, from 26-27 July (BM) in KL (Megan Avenue 1, Ampang). this event would bring u closer path understanding abt IT world. there are the some session talks tat i attended, where i found it was quite interesting subject to hear abt.

weee~~ happily, i had receive a goodie bag given by the BM wif yahoo! & BM T-shirt & notepad.

BUT…

haiz .. regretably, i had missed a lots of the valuable session talks tat i din attend. I go out to the Dharma Realm Guan Yin Sagely Monastery wif my fren. seeing monks reciting for prayers, i oso decide to hv a pray to the god. b4 we leave, i had made a donation to the temple and in return i receive some enlightened books from the temple. b4 home, my fren has been informed tat he had won an i-pod shuffle fr BM lucky draw. he sure rejoiced.

the next day i continued the learning process …

since BM received the warmest support fr the ppl, they decide to organize this event again. they will organize this event again in penang, melaka & jb.
